About Us
Message from the pastor:
One of my favorite passages is found in Matthew 5:13-16. It's here that Jesus says we are "the salt of the earth" and "You are the light of the world." I like these symbols of salt and light. I am reminded that eating salty foods result in being thirsty. While water might quench our thirst momentarily, Jesus is the living water and when we drink the living water we'll never be thirsty again. I think about light and the symbolism of carrying the candle out of a sanctuary at the end of a worship service. We are expected to carry that light into this dark and broken world.
I am encouraging our members here at FUMC to 'be salty' and to let our lights shine brightly beyond even the walls of the church. Take a look around our website and if you become a little thirsty, or a light shines on a path for you to our church, we'd be more than happy to help you become engaged in our activities and/or ministries.
Yours Through Christ,
Pastor Gray
